How String.CBs works
In utility-scale photovoltaic plants, hundreds or thousands of PV strings must be combined and connected reliably to the inverter. String.CB performs this task by collecting multiple strings, protecting each input with dedicated fuses and routing the combined current through larger output conductors.
Passive versions provide this electrical aggregation and protection only. They are the ideal choice when no string-level measurements are required and a robust, cost-efficient solution is sufficient.
Monitored versions include an integrated String.Bloxx measurement unit that continuously monitors string currents, DC voltage, power, cabinet temperature and status signals. This inverter-independent monitoring enables early detection of blown fuses, disconnected strings, shading, soiling and module degradation.
All measurement data from monitored versions is transmitted via Modbus RTU to SCADA systems, data loggers or Gantner.IQX for real-time monitoring and advanced analytics. This allows operators to identify underperforming strings quickly, reduce troubleshooting time and maximize energy yield throughout the entire plant lifetime.
